join forces to bring family-friendly, non-toxic, fair trade and organic apparel to market
OAKLAND, California, August, 2023 - Children’s organic, fair trade apparel brand, Mightly, best known for its non-toxic pajama sets, and Of an Origin, intentionally designed apparel made for all stages of motherhood, have announced a collaborative, small batch capsule to release October 15, 2023.
The partnership began when Mightly CEO, Tierra Forte, an industry veteran who was part of the team that developed the national Fair Trade Apparel Factory Program, approached Candice Collison, Co-founder and CEO of Of an Origin, with a background in DTC marketing for brands like The North Face, to create a reliable collection of affordable, family-friendly apparel.
Aligned with a commitment to bring families safe and stylish clothing made from environmentally friendly and responsibly sourced materials, the collaborative capsule boasts matching styles, for mother and child, that are interchangeable and perfect for everyday wear and family photos.
Fusing functionality with fashion, the Mightly x Of an Origin collection combines premium comfort and longevity of wear with effortless style. For mother’s, each piece is thoughtfully designed in silhouettes that promote confidence through pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. Details like front-snap closures for easy breastfeeding, and strategically placed pockets for hands-free pumping, create ease for day-to-day convenience: an assortment of convertible v-neck pima cotton tees; crossover bralettes, a floral throw-on robe; and stretch rib knit dresses, tops and flare pants to provide shape, form and comfort in sizes XS - 2X.
Complimentary “Mini-and-Me” children’s styles, backed by Mighty’s renowned Fair Trade and GOTS certifications, include complimentary long sleeve pocket tees, a ¾ sleeve skater dress, flare leggings, stretch rib baby beanies and a botanical knit baby turban. Newborn to kids’ sizes range from 0-14.
The collection features a limited edition “flower child” botanical print accented by complimentary colorways of navy, black, mid blue, olive and rust. The hand drawn print was created by Mightly’s Creative Director, Barrie Brouse, who was inspired by the plants and butterflies in her small urban farm in Northern California.
Each piece is responsibly made in a Fair Trade Certified facility in India from GOTS Certified Organic cotton which has been sustainably farmed using 71% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton farming. The cotton is sourced from Chetna Organic, a farmer-owned cooperative that supports smallholder farming families in India while providing schools, vocational training centers, sustainable initiatives, women's enterprises and revolving loan funds to remote farming villages.
